Official Rules of Texas Ranch Journal’s Photo Contest (the “Contest Rules” )

ELIGIBILITY
The Texas Ranch Journal 2025 Photo Contest (“Photo Contest”) is open to all professional and amateur photographers aged 18 or older, or under 18 with parent/guardian consent. Trustees, Board Members, Employees, interns, or partners of Texas Ranch Journal or Texas Ranch Sales, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of those employees, are not eligible to enter.

By submitting an entry to the Photo Contest, entrants certify that their participation is not illegal or in violation of any law, regulation, treaty, or administrative act, and that the laws of their jurisdiction at the time of entry do not prohibit or restrict the receipt of any Prize under this Photo Contest.

RESERVATION OF RIGHTS
Texas Ranch Journal (TRJ) reserves the right to reject any entry if, at TRJ’s sole discretion, the laws of an applicable jurisdiction would prohibit or limit TRJ from proceeding with the Contest as intended or if the consideration or awarding of any Prize would impose additional burdens on Texas Ranch Journal.

ENTRY PERIOD
The Photo Contest begins at 12am GMT on March 1, 2025, and ends at 11:59pm GMT on April 15, 2025 (the “Entry Period”). Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period will not be eligible.

WHAT TO ENTER
Entries will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit, and relevance to the Texas Ranching Lifestyle. Photos will be made available for public voting after the submission period closes.

HOW TO ENTER
Submit your best shots through the official submission website. Digital images must be no larger than 25 MB. If selected for the final round, high-resolution original files will be requested.

Entrants may submit an unlimited number of photos, but each submission must meet the requirements listed. Entries must include:

  • Photo title
  • Caption: Describe what we see, where it was taken, and the story behind the photograph
  • Where the photo was taken
  • When the photo was taken

PUBLIC VOTING
Starting March 10, all eligible entries will be posted on TexasRanchJournal.com for public voting. Voting will be open to all visitors, and participants will be able to vote for their favorite submissions. The public votes will help determine the winners.

AWARDS
Winning submissions will be selected for the following award categories:

  • One (1) Grand Prize Winner
  • One (1) Second Place
  • One (1) Third Place

JUDGING
Entries will be judged based on creativity, technical skill, and alignment with the Texas Ranching Lifestyle. The public votes will be factored into the final decisions made by a panel selected by Texas Ranch Journal. All judging decisions are final.

RESULTS
Winners will be announced on TexasRanchJournal.com/Photo-Contest-Results by 11:59pm GMT on April 25, 2025. Texas Ranch Journal will notify winners via the contact information provided at the time of entry.
